Growing Something Great at OCMS!
A big thank-you to Walmart of Union City for your generous donations to help jump-start our greenhouse projects for the school year! We are so grateful for your support of our students and our Agriculture program.
Sixth-grade boys John Garrett Buchanan, Garrett Coffey, Sonny Ray, Garrett Black, Kriegh McKinnis, and Peyton Miller put in some hard work helping unload the donations and get things moving!
We can’t wait to see what our students grow and learn this year in Ms. Payton’s Agriculture class! 🌱🌾

Both varsity and junior varsity teams for OCMS Volleyball had a good night competing in the jamboree against 3 Oaks! 💪❤️💙
Our JV came away with a big win, while both teams gained valuable experience, competed hard, and continued to grow together. We’re proud of the effort and determination our Rebels showed on the court! This is a great group of athletes!
The season is just getting started! We are excited to see what’s ahead! 🏐🔥

Mrs. Autumn’s Enrichment class did a “team bonding/get to know you” activity today where teams got an index card every time they discovered something their whole team had in common. They then were challenged with building the tallest tower they could in 5 minutes with their group’s index cards! The winning tower is posted!!
OCMS students are bonding and putting their minds together already!!

Important Traffic Update for OCMS Car Rider Parents: Please Share
To help improve the flow of morning and afternoon car rider traffic, please do not enter Petty Road directly from US 45W if you are traveling from Kenton or Union City.
Instead, please follow this route:
US 45W → Allie Campbell Road → Leggett Road → Petty Road
Using this route will help keep traffic moving more efficiently and allow for a safer, quicker car rider pickup and drop-off process for everyone.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to make our traffic flow as smooth as possible.

We are so excited to welcome our OCMS Rebels for the first official day of school! You will notice on the calendar, it is a full day of school. We look forward to seeing everyone!❤️💙

OCMS Volleyball is getting excited to compete! Make plans to see our Lady Rebels!💙🏐❤️

📣 REMINDER: OCMS OPEN HOUSE IS TONIGHT!
Obion County Middle School families are invited to join us tonight from 6:00–8:00 p.m. for Open House!
To accommodate our families’ different schedules, we will offer two identical informational sessions:
⏰ Session 1: 6:15 p.m.
⏰ Session 2: 7:00 p.m.
Families only need to attend one session. Before or after your selected session, you are welcome to explore the school and meet OCMS teachers and staff.
During the sessions, families will hear important information about student expectations, meet the OCMS administrative team, and receive an exciting introduction to our new House System, an approach inspired by the Ron Clark Academy that is designed to promote belonging, teamwork, character, and school spirit. We do not want to give too much away just yet!
We look forward to welcoming our students and families to OCMS tonight!

🚨 IMPORTANT: AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM PARENT MEETING 🚨

The after-school program will begin on the very first day of school, so it is extremely important that families attend this meeting to learn about program procedures, requirements, enrollment information, pickup expectations, and everything needed for students to participate.
Please make plans to attend so your child is prepared to begin the program on day one. Do not wait until school starts to get this information.
Please share this announcement with any OCMS family who may need after-school care.

🚍 Obion County Middle School (OCMS)Transportation Information for Families ❤️💙
We know that starting a new school brings questions, so we want to share with our OCMS families what transportation will look like for OCMS students this year.
Here’s what you need to know:
✅ Bus Riders
● Students will continue to be picked up at their regular bus stop or home, just like always.
● Buses will transport students to their home school as normal, which will either be Hillcrest or Lake Road, depending on where they were zoned. Students will then ride a transfer bus to OCMS.
● In the afternoon, OCMS buses will return students to Hillcrest or Lake Road to get on their normal buses to go home on their regular routes.
🚗 Car Riders
● Morning Drop-Off: 7:35–8:00 a.m. (back of the school)
● Classes Begin: 8:00 a.m.
● Afternoon Dismissal: Car riders will begin dismissing at 3:00 p.m.
⭐ Early Morning and Afternoon ESP Available
Early Morning ESP is available from 6:35–7:35 a.m. After-school ESP will also be available until 5:30. Stop by the ESP table at Back-to-School Night to learn more.
📍 Dropping Off at Hillcrest or Lake Road?
If you plan to drop your OCMS student off at Hillcrest or Lake Road instead of bringing them directly to OCMS, please have them there by 7:35, so they can catch the transfer bus to OCMS.
❓Have questions?
We will have a Transportation Table at Back-to-School Night on Thursday, July 30 from 6:00–8:00 p.m., where we’d be happy to help answer your questions.
We understand that a new school comes with changes, but we hope this helps put your mind at ease. Your student’s regular bus stop is staying the same. We’re simply adding a shuttle between our elementary campuses and OCMS to save you from having to drive to multiple schools. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the first year of Obion County Middle School!
